Amella’s tantalizing buttery Caramels made out of Cocoa Butter and Agave are redefining the Caramel experiece. The texture is soft kind of like a truffle and simply melts in your mouth. We indulged in a box of French Salted Caramels... The taste sensation is so unique you won’t just have one!!
“Smoke Weed Everyday”
April 8th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Ha… if that title didn’t get you this will. Snoop Dog is rolling with words!! yep…. I’m posting this for a bit of fun… okay– so it’s not your typical happy easter hunting and making eggs post. I was reading the digital news post this am, and spotted that San Francisco Advertising Agency Periera & O’Dell, has helped create a smokable lyrics book called ‘Rolling Words’ with the master of smoke himself, Snoop Dog… How Dope is that!! (good job Periera & O’Dell)… this is such a genius marketing idea that had to post!! haha… on easter.
The book cover that is made out of hemp-like material is perforated and easy for tearing and sharing has also a spine can be used as a match-striking surface. In addition, Classic songs like ‘Gin & Juice,’ ‘Nuthin’ Like a ‘G’ Thang,’ ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot,’ among others are printed on rolling paper.
Coachella fans how stoked will you be??? The book will have short-run available to those who are attending the festival, which features Snoop and Dr. Dre as the headliners ( April 13-15 and April 20-22). In words of Snoop himself… says he created the book “So people can always remember, you can roll with an expert or you can roll with Snoop.” We are rolling with the D-O-double g. Fa rizzle, my dizzle.

Vegan Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies… nom nom nom.
April 5th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Darlings,
Want something yummy for your tea or coffee??
I’ve been loving chef blogger Amy Chaplin’s, Coconut & Quinoa... I’ve been trying some of her wonderful Vegetarian/Vegan recipes, and super happy with everything I’ve made. She just has great a sensibility as most of her recipes have a very “clean” approach. I wanted to share her Vegan Cherry Chocolate Chip cookies, because they literally are the best. In the past few weeks, I have made them six times simple because they are yummy!!.
For a vegan cookie they are scrumptious!! Most vegan cookies are either very crumbly or hard, but the consistency on these cookies are perfect. Keep in mind the temperature is key.. you don’t want to over cook them, because then it can be on the slightly hard side at first, but they will soften over time… I’ve made that mistake a couple times.
You can also play around with the recipe a touch, I made a minor change by swapping the maple syrup for agave for my brother who is slightly diabetic, but definitely start with the original one first, then go from there. The fact these cookies hold together without eggs was surprising. sometimes without eggs, means they are much more dense. The good part is these cookies are not white or wheat flour based, so you don’t have to feel guilty for eating these cookies, they are truly on the healthier side. My guess is the coconut oil, that holds all the cards for this delicious cookie recipe.
Try it out… And View recipe here. and for more recipes check out her link here. http://www.coconutandquinoa.com
Be sure to catch me later… I’ll be posting two more of my favorite tunes!!

Break Science!!
April 3rd, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Lately the man and I have been out weekend after weekend checking out the DJ scene, bouncing to some dub, glitch, electro, breaks…. discovering new music and admiring the evolution of those we love.
Having spent some years in the music business and growing up in los angeles surrounded by a festival of talented artists, My man is schooling me on the dopest electronic music out there… leave it to him to find some of the sickest beats not to mention well produced albums. I may have the eye for talent but he certainly has the ear for it. So, In honor of music that finds us, this week I’ll be posting some beats we are listening to.
Here’s the Scoop!!
We are big fans of Pretty Lights, and seems Derek ( Mr. Pretty lights) is taking his skills to the next level with his radio show, Hot Sh*t... If you haven’t tuned in… You better. If you follow Pretty Lights on Sound Cloud–you can catch it there.
Not only does Pretty Lights produce some killer tracks, he’s managed to find some dam good artist to add his record label, Gramatik, Paper Diamond and the latest is Break Science, another evolutionary find to add to his reportiore. All I can say is… F*UCK YEAH… thanks Pretty Lights for some hot ass shit.
Break Science kick off 2012 with the release of their second EP entitled Monolith Code (Pretty Lights Music). As seasoned producers and touring veterans, Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee have produced and performed with everyone from The Fugees, Wu Tang Clan, and Talib Kweli, to reggae Lee Scratch Perry and Miles Davis collaborator, John Scofield. On Monolith Code, Break Science evokes a wide spectrum of electronic genres filtered through a musician’s lens, all while moving people spiritually AND on the dance floor.
download the Album on the Pretty Lights Label. but be sure to give the artist a little love and donate some money for the album!!!

Gregory Parkinson for Anthropologie
March 29th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
There are people in life whom you meet that have such a grace and mannerism about them that is so genuine… that you will always remember that encounter.
I met designer Gregory Parkinson at my girlfriend’s going away party. When we got to chatting, he was kind enough to give me some tips and advice on my lip balm, as well some contacts over at C magazine. In LA people just don’t offer up help or advice so easily… Usually you have to wine and dine someone to have a conversation like that.. I appreciated that.
At the time when we met he was just getting his line up and running and was on the verge of really getting it out there… still he was so humbled. A year later I went to one of his sample sales at Palihouse, and again—he was so kind. As I watched his career enter the spotlight through facebook postings, getting nods by Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, and doing a stint on a fashion series, whenever I’d reach out to him with questions or advice he had the same genuine kindness with his replies.
Three years later and much regarded recognition under his belt… Gregory’s Trans Seasonal Collection is coming to Anthropologie.
When I heard the news… It was one of those super happy feelings… Like— “it couldn’t of happen to a more nicer person”
Congrats Gregory Parkinson!!
Henna LOVE
March 28th, 2012 § 1 Comment
While pondering the thought of outfits and adornments to wear for music festival season, I realized.. Wait.. What’s missing?? Aah yes— getting my Henna done. I LOVE Henna art, and usually get some art done before each festival. Henna was regarded for luck as well as joy and beauty. In many countries Henna signifies celebration, and at one point I considered learning henna art because I love celebration, let alone it’s elegant and pensive style speaks to my mystical and spiritual side.
There are many places to get Henna done, but I usually go to the Indian market on Washington Blvd in Culver City… a place you wouldn’t know did Henna unless you asked the girl at the register…
Check out these beautiful Henna photos!
Ummm… Eyelashes are WICKED w/ Henna!!!
Amazing Right???!!! Get your Henna on!!
Is Spring really here?
March 26th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
I can’t seem to tell if we are just getting into the thick of winter or really moving into spring?! The rain and thunder is always a welcome change,
But it sure is cold in los angeles especially down here by the beach. For a moment there I was just jumping for joy that is was spring, but the vibe
and the chill in the air still feels like winter.
These past few days, I’ve had very little motivation to write which is strange because I love to write. Dam mercury retrograde! I am just getting a sense that my soul is needing to be still and silent… as the rain came in last night, I realized I needed to honor my thoughts. While in this state of mind, it’s very easy for me to just stop everything, but I didn’t want to go too long without posting on my blog, a commitment I made while I am on this journey even if my mood wasn’t up for it.
So, I thought i’d share a yummy Chicken Meatball recipe from Shiva Rose’s lovely blog, The Local Rose. If you make it while it’s chilly and rainy, it will warm you up and put a smile on your face.. and it just seems like a good time for some comfort food. Thanks Shiva for Nourishing us!!
Black Milk Leggings…. All the Rage!!
March 22nd, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Last night we went out dancing with friends… one of our girlfriend’s, Anthea had on these Black Milk Leggings. Surprisingly my husband knew she had on the Black Milk’s… when he pointed them out. She smiled and said yes— it’s my latest obsession. What is Black Milk—I ask?
Apparently these printed LEGGINGS are all the rage. Ladies of all ages are completely obsessed and buying them up… searching for deals on line, because the price for one of these babies is upwards $75, Ummm yes! that’s a pretty penny for a pair of leggings. Then again… there is something very unique about each pair— most of these leggings prompted “limited” and “sold out”… which makes you obsess on them more!
I finally had a chance to check out Black Milks website and can now see why?!! Even my new black shiny leggings don’t compare to these stylish printed galaxy ones.
Would you buy a pair of these for the price?? I will say throughout the evening Anthea got props and compliments everywhere we went.

Check out their website, and their facebook… There’s a pretty good reason these ladies are so obsessed. And a good story on how a broke guy with little money turned his business into a success. The company is located in Australia…
the photos posted are some of my favorite looks… of course most of them are SOLD OUT!! DAM!
Thanks Anthea… now i’ll be obsessed of getting a pricey pair…. after all it is festival music season.

Vanilla Chia ‘Seed’ Pudding… YUM!
March 21st, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Hey Spring Lovers!! You know what my latest addiction is, Chia Pudding!!? I started having Chia pudding at Moon Juice, Amanda makes it so delightful that I literally craved it everyday. So, I decided to research a few recipes, and found Chia is rich in plant source of Omega-3 (the vital fats that protect against inflammation—such as arthritis—and heart disease). And contain more Omega-3 than salmon. Chia can reduce calorie absorption makes them a great diet helper and also great for athletes because the “chia gel” can hydrate the body.
This is one of many recipes I will be sharing… the first is a recipe from Amy Chaplin’s blog Coconut and Quinoa. Her recipe is also featured in Martha Stewart Living (Jan), any takers… Click here for her recipe.
Have you tried making something yummy with Chia Seeds ? If so, Please share your recipe with me. I am totally into it.
