Sweet darlings,
Has anyone heard of Raw Hemp powder? Let alone used it? and when you think of hemp… you think of??
I’ve been buzzing around happy and smiling the last couple days and I am thinking it’s from Navitas Natural Hemp powder.  I wanted to restock my Spirulina when the simple packaging of this Hemp Powder caught my eye.  I started reading the label (of course), realizing hemp to is a superfood, and so I thought, Why not give it a try?
After the holidays challenged my eating habits, I am now being very conscientious about what I am eating.  I’m noticing my energy levels shift after having some of this hemp powder. So,  I am testing it out and will follow up at some point.
Here’s some facts:
“Hemp foods long recognized as an excellent source of nutrition and energy have been used by humans for over 12,000 years all around the world, and continue to be one of the top-rated superfoods”.
“Hemp is one of the earliest known cultivated plants. This bag contains 100% pure hemp seed powder that is certified organic, kosher, vegan, gluten-free and raw. Protein from the hemp seed contains all the essential amino acids making it a complete protein, one of the highest from a plant source. The hemp seed has a well balanced ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids that is ideal for humans. It is an excellent source of dietary fiber, magnesium, iron, zinc and a good source of potassium”.
Navitas Naturals is certified organic
Navitas” is the Latin word for energy. As the name implies, their mission is to provide premium organic functional foods that increase energy and enhance health. Part of this effort is to continually search for the world’s most beneficial natural foods. Navitas Naturals is a certified organic, green business headquartered in Marin County, California.  http://www.navitasnaturals.com/

Be Kind to the Planet says Kind Kreme

I have to say I am a tad envious of folks living in north hollywood these days. I’ve been having serious cravings for Kind Kreme… a little ice Kremery shop I recently discovered. Why hasn’t a place like this opened on the westside?
A few weeks ago a friend turned me on to a little goldmine nearing the Cahuenga pass. For years the valley seemed far behind the LA scene in offering up some good-for-you dessert joints. Well now… the valley has something to talk about!! especially for those who are craving a little decadence but wanting a guilt-less kind of treat.
Kind Kreme is a handcrafted Raw vegan ice kreme parlor that is all about sustainability and plant life. their recipes are enriched with low glycemic sweeteners like agave. and a secret medicinal root vegetable called Maca, said to be- a “Peruvian ginseng,” that grows in the mountain plateaus of the Peruvian Andes. It is rich in amino acids, phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals, and has been used as a traditional source of both food and medicine by indigenous people since the time of the Incas. Tart Blueberry, Ginger Basil, Banana Chocolate Swirl are ones to try, but I feel confident that any flavor is worth a taste.  Kind Kreme is also serving up shakes, smoothies, juices that are made with fresh almond milk for those who are feeling smooth. They also have noshy nosh Raw Vegan treats if you’re craving a little more.
Should you ever be in the neighborhood I suggest you stop by and support this “be kind to the planet” establishment… it’s seriously delicious!
oh… and  more recently Kind Kreme opened another location in Echo Park. lucky them!! check out their site for more info. www.kindkreme.com
